Scotland: Mountains, Islands & Whisky
In early June we flew into Edinburgh, rented a car and headed out to discover Scotland for ourselves. With the itineraries supplied by our friends at Secret Scotland firmly in hand, we went off in search of castles, Highlands, whisky, food and whatever else may cross our path. Among other things, that included having a close encounter with goofy looking cows, learning how not to deal with a huge bull in the road, driving on (very) narrow roads, appreciating good whisky (and learning NOT to call it Scotch), discovering that the Scots root for whoever is playing England and many other surprising things.
The page links below are sorted according to where we stayed: 3 nights each in Edinburgh, Inverness, the Isle of Skye and Oban and a final night near Edinburgh in South Queensferry. There are GPS tracks that show exactly where we went included on each page. Also, for photos that are tagged there will be a "maps" link that will open a window showing where the shot was taken. Pretty cool! The pictures can only show a bit of what we saw and experienced, but they're better than nothing. So enjoy!
